I am always amazed by what can be accomplished by a small group of people!!! Bread and Roses was a culture night that consisted of live music, poetry, and food. It was organized by a small group of individuals from the Arizona Dream Act Coalition and it took place at Tonatierra, a place that mixes culture, inspiration, and hard work all in one.
Being part of the organizing committee, tension always runs high before an event, there are always so many things to take care of, but when you see how good one of your events turns out and the smiles on people's faces after the event it just makes all of the stress disappear. I am so proud to be part of such an amazing organization. I didn't get to see most of the performances because I was serving food (very delicious food by the way) but I had a BLAST!!! Maybe I'll post some future events on here, because they are always warm and welcoming just like the people who plan them!

MIRAME

by Belanova

Mírame a los ojos dime
Todo lo que estas pensando
Cuéntame
Que hay nubes de azúcar
Que la vida endulzan
Que tus labios las pueden tocar

Y que mañana
Al despertar seré
Un poema
Que se escribió con estrellas
Que te hablara
De un planeta de sonrisas
Que nacieron para ti
Mi niño

Mírame a los ojos dime
Que es lo que haremos mañana
Cuéntame
Navegar el cielo seria buena idea
Y la luna poder visitar

Y que mañana
Al despertar seré
Un poema
Que se escribió con estrellas
Que te hablara
De un planeta de sonrisas
Que nacieron para ti
Mi niño

Song of the week! Belanova always has such sweet and incredible lyrics.

"Take me out tonight where there's music and there's people who are young and alive"
-there is a light never goes out.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts for we are about to experience a bumpy ride.

This week is going to be soooo hectic and busy. I'm tired and the week hasn't even started yet, and i'm also broke but still I have so many things to buy. *sigh...I'm hoping for at least one good thing to happen this week.
wish me luck!

I found this picture in a blog. I think we've all felt like this at some point or another right? We all have more things in common than we think but, sadly, we believe things ONLY happen to us...maybe it's a price of being young.
I really miss Pushing Daisies, it used to be my favorite show before Ugly Betty came along. Not many people knew about it, which is why I think I liked it so much. What I miss the most is watching Lee Pace every Wednesday night. He's in a movie called The Fall which has gotten great reviews, can't wait to see it!!! In the mean time...Pushing Daisies Season 1 & 2 in DVD will be on my wish list from now until Christmas!

“When communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids, when nursing mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school to find their parents missing, when people are detained without access to legal counsel, when all that is happening, the system just isn’t working, and we need to change it…” candidate Barack Obama to NCLR in 2008.

I usually avoid being political on my blog, but this is an issue that really gets to me because I know that there are SO many people out there affected by it. If you want to know more go to my friend's blog (link right under the quote). This is one of the main reasons I hate living in Arizona.
